After the pre-dawn Batur trek, breakfast is served on the caldera rim, looking across the volcano and Lake Batur below. It gets cold up there before the sun climbs, so bring a light layer for the wait.
Once you reach the top, you settle in at a simple viewpoint warung looking out over Mount Batur and the crater lake below. With the sun up and cloud still drifting through the valley, it makes a quiet, open spot to eat and rest after the climb.
