A small, tide-dependent beach near Pecatu, reached down cliffside steps past cafes, with a reef break and a laid-back scene.
Bingin is reached on foot down a maze of steps and paths that wind past cliffside guesthouses, cafes, and surf shops. It's a bit of a scramble, and there's no vehicle access to the sand, which is part of why it keeps its relaxed, low-key feel. The walk down is short but steep.
The beach itself changes with the tide: at low water a good stretch of white sand and tide pools opens up, while at high tide the sea comes right in and the sand nearly disappears. Low tide is the time to come for space to sit and swim. Check the tide before you plan your visit.
Bingin's reef break is a favourite with surfers, best at mid-to-low tide, and fun to watch from the cafes stacked up the cliff. As the day ends, the west-facing beach makes an easy sunset spot - grab a drink, find a step with a view, and watch the light go. It's one of the more social of the quiet Bukit beaches.
