Git Git is one of the taller waterfalls in North Bali, a single column of around 35 metres falling into a pool in the rainforest near Singaraja. It has long been one of the island's more visited falls, helped by how straightforward it is to reach, and the cool spray carries well beyond the water. Morning brings the best light through the canopy.
Reaching the falls is a short, shaded walk on a paved path rather than the scramble that guards tougher falls like Sekumpul. The way in passes coffee bushes, clove trees and other spices on small local plantations. It runs gently downhill to the water, which means the return is uphill, though the distance is modest.
At the foot of the drop the air turns cool and damp and the sound of the water fills the ravine, with rainforest closing in on both sides. It works well as a short stop to cool off and take photos before carrying on along the northern route. The rocks near the pool stay wet and slippery, so footing matters here.
