Built by the last raja of Karangasem in the early 1900s, Taman Ujung (Taman Soekasada) spreads across wide reflecting ponds linked by ornate bridges and European-Balinese pavilions. It's grand, symmetrical, and endlessly photogenic.
On a clear day the pools mirror Mount Agung on one side and the ocean on the other, with manicured gardens climbing the hillside. A short walk up the terraces gives you the postcard view over the whole palace.
Flat, easy walking with plenty of shade and photo spots - allow around 45 minutes. It sits close to Tirta Gangga, so the two royal water palaces pair naturally on an East Bali day.
