Overview

The Statue

One of the Tallest on Earth

The centrepiece is a colossal statue of Lord Vishnu riding the mythical Garuda, standing 121 metres above the park, taller than the Statue of Liberty. Completed in 2018 after decades of work and clad in copper and brass, it is genuinely striking up close. Walk to the base and look up; the scale is hard to believe.

The Park

A Limestone Cultural Plaza

The statue rises from a large park carved out of the local limestone, with tall stone pillars and wide plazas cut into the cliffs. Through the day the grounds host Balinese dance and cultural performances. It's a big, open space built for spectacle, a setting quite unlike anywhere else on the island.

The Views

Over the Southern Peninsula

Set high on the Bukit peninsula, the park's viewpoints look out over the dry, rolling south of Bali towards the sea. On a clear day you can see for miles across the peninsula. Whether you come for the mythology or the sheer scale, it makes a solid opening stop for a day in the south.
