Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK)

One of the tallest statues on earth, towering over a limestone cultural park.

About

Garuda Wisnu Kencana is one of the tallest statues on earth - Lord Vishnu riding the mythical Garuda, standing 121 metres above a vast limestone cultural park. Taller than the Statue of Liberty, it took decades to complete, and it's genuinely striking up close in a way photos never quite capture.

The park around it hosts cultural performances and sweeping viewpoints over the southern peninsula. Whether you're drawn by the mythology or just the sheer scale, it's an impressive way to open a day in the south.
