Tirta Gangga Water Palace

A royal water garden of tiered fountains, koi ponds, and stepping stones.

About

Tirta Gangga is a former royal water palace in East Bali, built around tiered fountains and koi-filled pools. Its best-loved feature is the row of stepping stones you can walk across the water, weaving between the ponds. Peaceful, green, and endlessly photogenic - one of the island's most underrated stops.

The gardens were built by the last king of Karangasem and still carry a calm, regal feel. Fountains bubble, fish drift beneath your feet, and manicured lawns roll toward the hills - it's the kind of place to slow down, feed the koi, and simply wander for a while.
