Tanjung Benoa is a narrow spit on Bali's southern peninsula, just north of Nusa Dua, and the island's main base for watersports. The bay is shallow and sheltered by a reef, which keeps the water calm and suits first-timers as much as thrill-seekers. Operators line the beach, and you choose your activities on the day.
Take the controls of a jet ski, get lifted over the bay on a parasail for a view down the coast, or hang on for a banana boat ride. Life jackets are provided and a trained instructor runs each activity, so no experience is needed and most rides suit families. You will get wet, so bring a swimsuit, a towel, and a change of clothes. From Ubud it's a half-day out; your driver takes you down, waits while you're on the water, and drives you straight back.
