Bali has no train network, and its roads are winding and often congested, so how you get around matters. For most travellers, a private driver or car charter is the most comfortable option - especially for temple runs and countryside days.
Scooters are cheap and everywhere, but Bali's traffic is genuinely risky for the inexperienced, and an International Driving Permit is required. Ride-hailing apps work in some areas but are restricted in others.
Because journeys take longer than the map suggests, it's best to plan realistic days rather than cramming. We offer private airport transfers and full-day charters with a local driver.
