Where to swim, surf, and catch the sunset around the island.
Bali Guide › What to Do
Bali's coastline changes character as you go around the island. The south has the classic white-sand beaches and reliable surf - Kuta for beginners, Uluwatu for experienced surfers, and Canggu for a bit of both.
The east and north offer quieter black-sand shores and calmer water, better for a peaceful swim than a party. Offshore, coral reefs make for easy snorkeling.
Wherever you swim, respect the ocean - Bali's surf beaches can have strong currents, so watch for flags and lifeguards.
